Madirimangalam

Madirimangalam is a beautiful village situated on the banks of river Kaveri. It is in Thanjavur district of Tamilnad and has an enchanting scenery of verdant paddy fields and extensive gardens. Well, is this alone sufficient to make a village famous? No, there must be some famous personalities hailing from the place or some big festivals and congregations to boot. Unfortunately, there are no big names to associate with the village but so what?
Is any body from Madirimangalam hearing?

I am from madirimangalam. The village is good and beautiful. Surrounded about very famous temples.
But the co-operation between the vilagers is lacking. I find the retd. folks also do not be a good example for the next generation. I find even the younger generation folks are also being spoiled by some old guys for taking some personnal revenge on some individual.
The celebration in the temples should be co-ordinated and done in a better way.
This will give a cordial atmosphere in the village.

Dear All,

My name is Sankara Raman. We belong to Madirimangalam. My father Shri. M.S.Ramanathan was born and brought up in this village. As he was working in CPWD (central government job) we were away from this place throughout his career. Our family is settled at Chennai. My grand father Shri. C.N.Subranmaniam Iyer was very well known. our ancestoral home was next to Ramar temple on the Mel veedhi.

After my overseas sojourn, I am back in India and staying in Bangalore.

I have visited this village many times. My uncle used to stay there for many years, but now every body has moved out.

Hello everyone !

This is Narayan. My father hails from Madirimangalam. Our ancestral house used to be two houses away from Vishwam kurukkal's house very long back. He still remembers many details of the village, though he is 90+ and is very eager to interact with anyone from the village. He is the only disciple of Madirimangalam Natesa Iyer ( of Thyagaraja film fame of 1930s ) and hence is the direct fourth generation disciple of Saint Thyagaraja himself without any mix-up. Later he was under tutelage of the great violinist Tiruvalangadu Sundaresa Iyer. Madirimangalam Ramachandran was much junior to my father and acquainted. The great musician GNB was a nephew of Natesa Iyer. Shri Amritam Iyer is well known to us. We are settled now in Hyderabad. Anyone may contact if interested.

My dad's village is Madirimangalam, near Kuttalam. My dad and my uncle studied in Board School, Kuttalam. We had a house in the Agraharam called Calcutta House. It is still there, but the house abd paddy fields have been usurped by the farmers who cheated us.So also our lawyer cheated us.But my family and I have renewed connections with the village for the past 5 years. We usually come there after a visit to Vaitheeswaran temple and also visit the village during Panguni Uthram. I am Swaminathan and now reside in Chennai.
